Critical Incident Debriefings

Whether your job is responding to emergency situations, or you have been exposed to an act of crime, death of a co-worker or peer, witnessed a traumatic accident or experienced horrorÖ if the ensuing stress isnít well-managed, it can become unhealthy.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) is short-term, psychological help- first aid, and wellness process. Its purpose is to help people return to their level of functioning more quickly and with less likelihood of experiencing stress following an alarming or traumatic experience.

All CISD interventions are confidential. The emphasis is keeping people psychologically safe as possible and returning them quickly to more normal levels of functioning.

Historically, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) programs are peer-driven and the people giving the treatment are usually first responders or work in the mental health field. At Hinkle and Associates we are able to provide both disciplines and experiences in Patís 30 years as a police officer, U.S. Army veteran, hospital emergency room and clinical trauma experiences as a licensed counselor and therapist.

Hinkle & Associates has the background and knowledge needed to cope with these difficult situations. It offers special considerations geared toward those who have experienced trauma. The goal is to help you and your organization maintain confidence, morale, self-esteem, psychological health and employee retention following a traumatic or crisis incident.
